WIP Wednesday 1.3

It's Wednesday! Yay for the middle of the week!

I'm so excited! I've been working on my sock from last week... Loving it! Such an easy pattern, but just enough of a challenge to keep me interested.... And my students love watching my progress, which is an added bonus because it motivates them to continue to improve in their knitting.

I'm also about 1/3 of the way through the lace chart on the shawl test I am doing. I can't wait until I have the designer's okay to share pictures with you! Such a gorgeous design, and fairly mindless. This pattern is one of my favorites!

And now for the fun pictures! This year I am going to really buckle down on my pattern release schedule. Like maybe even make and stick to one sort of buckle down :D To start with, I'm working on a design that I started as a way to comfort me..... You see, my best friend, and one of my only friends actually my age, is moving away. Granted, it is just over the state border, so only about 8-10 hours away, but I will miss her a whole bunch.

So I'm knitting a shawl that is going to remind me of her.... and be warm and cozy enough to be like a hug when I'm feeling down or missing her, but still light enough that I can wear it in spring and in the air conditioned buildings in the summer. What do you think so far? I'm hoping to have it ready for testers by the end of the February, at the latest.... Then off to photo shoot and hopeful publication by the end of March......

What are you working on this week? Don't forget to head on over to Tami's Amis for more WIP Wednesday posts, and to join in the link party!

Hugs and Happy knitting,
Deenna

  1. Awe. I'm sad to hear that your friend is moving. I think knitting the shawl to remind you of her is a great idea.
